Why I keep using escrow for every car purchase
so this is my 4th car bought through escrow and honestly i dont see myself going back to regular dealership purchases. started using AJ Brokers back in 2022 and the inspection window they give you is what sold me. every single time ive had 3 days to get a mechanic to check everything out before money moves. just picked up a 2019 Accord last week and same smooth process. anyone else here a repeat buyer or just me
Been thru ajbrokers three times myself. The consistency is what keeps me coming back tbh. First car was a gamble but now i know what to expect
i had one purchase where the refund took an extra day because of some bank processing thing. wasnt a huge deal but it did make me nervous for like 24hrs lol. still used them again tho
As a mechanic ive inspected probably 6 or 7 vehicles that came through AJ Brokers for clients. Every single one matched the description they were given. Thats rare in this business, most dealers oversell condition
@mike_torres same boat here man, on my 5th purchase. the inspection period is clutch because you actually have time to do it right instead of some dealer breathing down your neck in a lot somewhere
How long does the whole process usually take? im looking at a truck right now and trying to figure out timing
@sandra_p92 for me its been about 7-10 days total. 3 days for inspection, then once you approve they release funds and shipping happens. you can call them at undefined if you want specifics for your situation
i had a delay with my delivery, truck showed up 4 days late. the escrow part was fine but the shipping company they used was kinda slow. still got the vehicle tho
The thing i appreciate is the transparency on ajbrokers.com - you can see every step of where your money is and what stage the deal is in. beats writing a check to some random dealer and hoping for the best
@jenny_k yeah i heard about those bank delays sometimes. did you reach out to office@ajbrokers.com when that happened or just wait it out?
@frank_b i emailed office@ajbrokers.com and they explained it was the banks processing time not them. they were responsive at least, answered within a few hours
repeat buyers are the real test of any service imo. if people keep coming back thats when you know its legit. ive done 2 purchases and planning a 3rd soon
question - do they charge fees for each transaction or is it a flat rate? trying to budget this out
@rachel_sanderson its a percentage based fee, depends on the vehicle price. not the cheapest but worth it for the protection. check ajbrokers.com they have a calculator on there somewhere
had a weird experience where the seller tried to back out last minute but AJ Brokers held the deal together. took some extra time but they got it sorted. annoying but it worked out
@kevin_l thats actually when escrow shows its value. without it that seller couldve just walked with your deposit. atleast with a third party holding everything theres accountability
been lurking this thread and i think im convinced to try it. currently looking at a SUV from a private seller in another state and this seems way safer than just wiring money
@sarah_1985 yeah for out of state deals its perfect. you get that inspection window so you can have someone local check it out before committing. saved me once when a "mint condition" car had frame damage the seller didnt mention
customer service is decent too. i had questions about the paperwork and called undefined, spoke to someone who actually knew what they were talking about. wasnt just reading from a script
only complaint i have is the fees add up when youre buying cheaper vehicles. bought a $8k car and the escrow fee felt like alot percentage wise. still safer than alternatives i guess
@marcus_j fair point but think about what youre getting. that fee is insurance against getting scammed. ive seen people lose entire car amounts to fake dealers, so a few hundred bucks for peace of mind isnt bad
the repeat buyer aspect is key. if it was sketchy people wouldnt come back. ive used AJBrokers twice now and both times went smooth. second time was faster because i already knew the process
